Foster and Son ready to wear collection made in Northampton

Following on from the news back in October 2018 that Northampton’s first new shoe factory in over 30 years was opening, Foster & Son have started to reveal more details about their new ready to wear collection.

The launch of Foster & Son’s first ever collection of ready to wear shoes was announced at the prestigious Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. All of the new collection has been made in their new state-of-the-art Northampton workshop, harnessing the skills and expertise of Northamptonshire’s world-renowned shoemakers.

A new, global shoe brand made in Northampton
The launch of the ready to wear collection is part of Foster & Son’s strategic plan to reach out to new markets, and to create a truly global brand according to CEO Matthew Allen:

The aim is to make this a worldwide new brand. We’ve got massive plans for marketing - that’s really important.

We are aiming to produce the finest shoes to come out of Northamptonshire.

A defining year for Foster & Son
The new collection is based on Foster & Son’s rich archive of designs amassed over its near-180 year history, and will be available to buy from their shop at 83 Jermyn Street, London. The brand is also rumoured to be planning new stores in New York and Paris, and with a new online presence on the way and revamped social channels, 2019 is set to be a defining year for Foster & Son.

For our part, we’re pleased to welcome such a respected shoemaking brand into the Northampton Shoes family, and will continue to support their plans to create a global brand presence as long they are made in Northampton.
